Why rescue dogs from Cyprus?

There are thousands of rescue dogs in Cyprus that need a forever home. With your help, we can give them all a fresh start and save them from the kill shelters.

Our mission

Dogs raise our spirits, make us laugh, provide companionship and give us the one thing that many humans spend a lifetime trying to find; unconditional love. And we believe they deserve the same devotion from us. That’s why we’re on a mission to find every stray, abandoned and mistreated dog in Cyprus a new home, with families who will love them without condition.

Sadly, we can’t do that locally. It’s estimated that there are over 150,000 stray dogs in Cyprus but due to the popularity of designer breeds, locals rescuing dogs from Cyprus is rare. Hundreds of pedigrees are imported to the small island every year, whilst thousands’ of healthy, happy dogs are handed over to municipal dog shelters or found wandering the streets.

Dali Dog Rescue UK exists to protect all dogs from kill shelters

With little government support available for dog shelters and rescues, too often, healthy dogs are put down for no other reason than the authorities being overwhelmed.

We’re committed to changing this pattern. With your help, we can prevent the euthanasia of hundreds of healthy dogs and find them the forever home they deserve in the UK. At the same time, we can raise awareness of puppy farming, promote sterilisation and teach the next generation how to care for their pets, by providing educational resources to the local community.

Help us achieve even more!

Our shelter is over capacity and at any one time we can have over 80 dogs in our care. Help us make their temporary home the best it can be by making a regular or one-off donation.
